As an Assortment Planning Trainer at Belk, you will be at the forefront of advancing assortment planning proficiency within our organization. Your core responsibility will be to craft, cultivate, and deliver training programs that elevate the capabilities of assortment planning across the merchandising and planning teams.
Job Functions
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and craft assortment planning training programs that cater to the unique demands of our business.
Develop training materials, encompassing presentations, comprehensive documentation, real-world case studies, and engaging multimedia resources that effectively transmit assortment planning concepts and best practices.
Conduct informative training sessions through versatile mediums, ranging from in-person workshops to interactive virtual sessions.
Assess the effectiveness of training programs through meticulous feedback analysis, comprehensive evaluations, and performance metric tracking. adapt and refine training initiatives to ensure ongoing enhancement.
Keep a vigilant eye on the assortment planning landscape, perpetually researching, and assimilating the latest trends, tools, and technologies to ensure training materials remain at the forefront of the field.
Maintain an organized repository of training records, participant progress tracking, and training outcomes.
Collaborate with teams to support the implementation of new assortment planning strategies, championing change management efforts, and ensuring a smooth transition.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent years of experience.
4 or more years of applicable experience.
Specific work or project experience: Demonstrated effectiveness in training or meeting facilitation, training techniques and tools, and information delivery mechanisms.
Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and effectively manage multiple complex projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to learn and retain details for multiple programs.
Ability to establish partnerships with business partners.
Experience in Merchandising or Planning or experience in developing or delivering system training.
Knowledge / Skills Requirements: Proficient report building skills for multiple end users.
Command over assortment planning software and tools (e.g., JDA, Oracle Retail, SAP Retail).
Ability to use SQL for sourcing data.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence others.
Ability to work well with little or no supervision.
