We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Logistics Coordinator. The successful candidate will manage inbound and outbound shipments to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role is essential for coordinating and optimizing logistics activities to meet customer needs, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of logistics principles.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments
Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments and verify rates
Develop and communicate shipment schedules
Liaise with vendors and carrier services to coordinate logistics and timelines
Address and resolve shipment and inventory issues
Research ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers
Work with other departments to integrate logistics with company procedures and operations
Prepare and maintain shipment paperwork, records, and digital databases
Ensure compliance with transportation and warehousing regulatory requirements
Efficiently and accurately execute logistics orders and rush orders, meeting both standard and rush delivery requirements
Develop and maintain expertise across all logistics types and transportation modes
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to implement logistics strategies
Requirements:
Demonstrated expertise in the field of logistics and supply chain, with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a high-paced work environment.
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to effectively prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines.
Capability to acquire essential resources for streamlined logistics operations.
Preferred possession of a bachelor's degree in Logistics.
Proficient experience in managing profit loss within a logistics department.
Intermediate level of knowledge regarding DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA rules and regulations.
Displays a comprehensive understanding of business operations and strategy.
Utilizes informed decision-making aligned with organizational objectives and can enhance business performance through data-driven decision-making and proactive measures.
