Organization Description
This position will support The Association for Vascular Access (AVA), which was founded in 1985 to support and promote the specialty of vascular access. Today, AVA is the leading organization representing all the interests in the field. The AVA Foundation was established in 2006 to further AVA’s mission by working collaboratively with corporations, foundations, individuals and AVA networks. The AVA Foundation works to support and fund vascular access research, education, scholarships and community outreach projects.
Position Overview
The Clinical Education Specialist works under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Education to assist with educational projects and various clinical initiatives for AVA. You will be part of a dynamic, collaborative, high performing team with a results-oriented approach. You must be a self-starter, able to multitask and possess excellent follow-through to adhere to project schedules and move the needle for impact and progress of the association. You will be expected to continually work to increase AVA’s mission through our educational offerings to ensure access to best practices and standards in the Vascular Access specialty.
Key Responsibilities:
Education Asset & Program Development:
As projects are introduced, develop schedules of educational activities and assets
Administer online learning content
Oversee volunteer management
Oversee continuing education inquiries and other assets/activities as needed
Utilize online project management platform to enter and track project schedules
Create and manage project schedules
Send status report to key stakeholders and DCE by the direction of the DCE
Answer online inquires and phone calls in relation to projects
Develop comprehensive project plans
Present to DCE project plan for final approval
Assist in review committee member placement
Schedule and participate with volunteer committee meetings
Assess and convey project needs to committee members within structured timelines
Follow up with committee members as needed
Education Asset & Program Implementation:
Collaborate with the DCE on educational assets and program activity implementation
Manage implementation process for educational projects
Implement and manage schedules into online project management platform
Coordinate with other staff and volunteers as needed for project success
Develop Status Reports for DCE and key stakeholders
Provide support and data entry into the LMS platform
Update AMS to correlate changes made to LMS or other program activities, such as webinars or other online educational content.
Clinical Education & Organization Support:
Staff oversight and coordination of Special Interest Groups
Provide operational knowledge and support to Special Interest Group leaders
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with an emphasis in Education or a related field.
Board Certification in Vascular Access (VA-BCTM)
Expertise in the vascular access field
Licensed in healthcare in any related field
Prior database/AMS experience
Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
Demonstrate integrity and commitment to AVA’s mission
Uphold AVA’s Policies and Procedures, applicable Federal, State, and local laws.
Self-starter who is driven and has the ability to work independently
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Exhibit a high level of attention to detail in order to produce accurate results
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with ability to convey information in writing and orally.
Proven ability to learn and effectively operate technology independently
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to support strategic direction
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited university an emphasis in Education or a related field
Experience working in a remote or virtual office environment
Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS)
Experience using online project management software
