Your Opportunity with ECG: Application Engineer
As an application engineer,
you
will be responsible for maintaining our enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, specifically Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, an ERP system specialized for professional services firms. In addition to maintaining the ERP, the ideal candidate will manage the SQL Server databases,
SQL Server Reporting Services
(SSRS) reports, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages , as well as have experience with Power BI. Experience with Dynamics CRM and SharePoint is a plus but not required. The ideal candidate will be experienced with Microsoft 365 and Azure security, open to new challenges, exceptional at multitasking, and proficient at implementing new solutions. The position reports to the IT applications manager and may be based in any of our ECG offices, although preference will be given to candidates who can work out of our Seattle, Boston, or Chicago offices.
Your Responsibilities May Include:
Installing, configuring, maintaining, and administering Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint application and databases in the production and development environments, with a strong emphasis on Resource Planning, Accounting, Time and Expense, and Billing modules.
Researching, testing, and implementing ERP support packs and version upgrades.
Administering databases, including backup, recovery, resource monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Partnering with various business units (e.g., finance, marketing, consulting staff) to gather requirements related to ERP.
Collaboratively working with stakeholders and the Analytics Hub to collect, clean/normalize, analyze, and visualize data, as well as develop actionable insights that can be shared with decision-makers.
Developing, configuring, and maintaining interfaces to exchange data between SQL databases as well as cloud-based applications.
Utilizing SSRS, Power BI, Power Query, and Power Pivot to create and maintain custom reports.
Providing advanced third-tier application support for the ERP and related components.
Utilizing Deltek Consulting, as well as other third-party Deltek consultants, to accelerate software upgrades, implement additional modules, and troubleshoot complex issues.
Working out of a ServiceNow ticketing queue to track and respond to customer requests.
Performing root-cause analysis and recommending solutions to minimize problem recurrence.
Creating and maintaining application support documentation, as well as operating procedures.
Evaluating and recommending new technologies and related tools.
Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, including attending training and technical conferences, taking part in professional organizations, etc.
Our Expectations of You
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or similar; four years of related work experience may be substituted for the educational requirement
Three or more years of progressive ERP application engineer experience in an enterprise environment; experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint a plus
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, and SSIS
Strong knowledge of Power BI and Power Query; Power Pivot a plus
Python, R, Tableau, Java/JavaScript knowledge a plus
Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
Conceptual understanding and/or experience with application security; HIPAA exposure a plus
Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues
Good project management and organizational skills
Availability to work the occasional weekend and/or evenings for planned implementations
Ability to travel 10%of the time
Job Locations
The candidate must be based near an ECG office. Preference will be given to candidates in Seattle, Boston, or Chicago, but other ECG offices include Atlanta, Dallas, Minneapolis, San Diego, St. Louis, and Washington, DC.
In this role, you’ll be able to work remotely.
