What will you be doing in your role?
Meet with tutors on a weekly basis to plan lessons
Travel back and forth between the office and the tutoring site
Assist in teaching small or large groups of students ranging in age and ability
Follow the lesson plan provided by the tutor
Assist in pre- and post- tests
Take attendance
Contact clients in person and over the phone with an interpreter
Enter funder required documentation into the database
Maintain professional relationships with school staff and volunteers
Arrive on time
Communicate concerns about students to your team in a timely manner
Engage refugee families in a culturally sensitive manner
WORK HOURS
Regular office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. This position may require flexibility to work various hours and possibly weekends depending on current program needs. This position requires a minimum of at least 10 hours per week, and at least one semester remaining.
For spring and fall semester interns, two after school tutoring groups from 3:00-6:00pm are required as a part of weekly hours. Must be available for two of the following time slots for spring and fall semesters: Mondays 3-6pm, Tuesdays at 3-6 pm, Wednesdays at 3-6 pm, or Thursdays at 3-6 pm. Other days and times are negotiable, based on the needs of the intern and the program.
For summer interns, the tutoring groups scheduling is more flexible with morning (8am-12) and afternoon (1pm-5pm), Monday through Friday tutoring groups.
This position will be providing in-person tutoring. Collaboration with the team will also be done in-person.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a non-paid part-time position.

Must have reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and liability insurance
