Summary
The Chief Engineer position requires a diverse skill set that includes mechanical knowledge, welding expertise, communication skills, stick welding proficiency, industrial electrician experience, English fluency, electrical experience, and low voltage knowledge. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess a strong background in industrial maintenance. Premium skills such as programmable logic controllers, CMMS, and HVAC knowledge would be advantageous in this role. The ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and provide exceptional customer service is also essential. Overall, the Building Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of industrial facilities, with a focus on safety, quality, and reliability.
Duties:
- Respond to and repair work order from building tenants.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
- Solve engineering problems and improve existing designs
- Perform rounds and readings daily and provide and feedback to Property Management
- Perform preventive maintenance to HVAC equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members
Qualifications:
- MEP knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials, and preventive maintenance
- 2 to 5 years of building engineering experience
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Skills:
- English proficiency for effective communication within the team and with clients
- Knowledge of industrial electrician practices for electrical system integration
- Experience with low voltage systems for equipment safety and control
- Understanding of industrial maintenance procedures for equipment upkeep
- Mechanical knowledge for designing efficient systems and components
- Ability to maintain and repair mechanical equipment as needed
- Familiarity with stick welding techniques for fabrication purposes
- Basic electrical knowledge for troubleshooting electrical issues
