The Position
The Director of Hospice and Palliative Care will be responsible for the oversight of hospice, adult palliative care, and pediatric palliative care operations throughout the organization.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director will oversee approximately 50+ FTEs and will closely manage the strategic planning, operations, quality assurance, safety, and physician practices initiatives.
The Director will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of physician relationships, program development, customer satisfaction, and departmental budgets/grant requests to ensure optimal growth is efficiently achieved.
This leader will focus primarily on the ongoing departmental initiatives including patient satisfaction, performance improvement, professional and regulatory compliance, and fall rates.
The Director will collaborate closely with the billing, revenue cycle, and executive leadership teams and will serve as a liaison to other Baystate entities including home health programs. This department is highly supported by senior leadership with the commitment from the system to support and grow this crucial service line.
Seeking a visionary leader who will be able to effectively drive collaboration and communication to ensure strong relationships with physicians, employee engagement, and accountability throughout the department.
Candidates will ideally bring extensive knowledge pertaining to hospice-related local, state, and federal compliance regulations.
Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with an active RN license is preferred.
Previous management experience within a hospice setting is required.
