Salary:** $28 - $33 per hour, with signing incentives (cash, vehicle access, or others)

Potential for annual profit share + performance incentives

Benefits: Paid time off, including sick and vacation time

Mileage Reimbursement

Work Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 - 5:30 (option to negotiate schedule)

Rotating on-call with on-call salary differential (evenings and weekends)

85 - 90% in the field

Requirements: Legally authorized to work in the US, Proof of Covid vaccine or approved testing protocol

Work Description + Responsibilities

Working in a team environment, our Maintenance Technicians are energetic self-starters, customer service experts, and troubleshooting whizzes. Techs provide crucial maintenance services for BirdWatch homeowners, including:

Repairing common household elements such as cabinets, drywall, shelving, flooring

Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures

Installing light fixtures, dimmers or GFCI outlets, carbon and smoke detectors, and specialty bulbs

Installing smart home elements, including thermostats, life and safety, and cameras

Replacing air filters and basic diagnosing of HVAC issues

Patching and painting of drywall

Small-scale tiling installation and tile repairs

Caulking and sealing

Powerwashing

Lock repair or installation

Mailbox installation

Fencing and gate repair

Hanging televisions

Baby-proofing

Hanging art or shelving

Carpentry, including framing and finish work

Building furniture and stage furniture for clients

Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries

Bills for all approved repairs in a timely manner

Responsible for hitting performance markers each month

Updates maintenance tickets and completes work that is needed in one trip if possible

Purchases materials needed for client jobs

Qualifications Education and Experience

Experience in home maintenance and/or construction required (4+ years)

Experience with training and mentoring is a plus!

Trade certifications are a plus!

Handyman experience is a plus!

Ability to work a flexible schedule occasionally to include weekends, evenings, and holidays if needed

Ability to handle maintenance emergencies and stay calm under pressure

Ability to work indoors and outdoors, able to lift 75lbs+

Enjoys working on a team and developing talent

Willing to use technology in the field (training will be provided)

Knowledge of the DMV area required and the ability to navigate the city

Strong interpersonal skills
