Role Mission:
The Director of Support Services will oversee and support programs related to all Vista College Prep special populations , including but not limited to special education, intervention, and ELL programs across all Vista campuses. In this role, you will develop and manage the programs and teams charged with achieving exceptional results for all special populations, collaborate with campus staff to align on the vision of inclusivity and highest expectations for all students, and actively engage with external partners as we develop and refine strong programming and a model of excellence. The Director of Student Supports will report to the Chief Academic Officer.
Your Impact:
Set a programmatic vision of inclusivity and excellence for student support services and coordinate with all relevant campus, network, and external stakeholders to create and manage programs, services, policies, and protocols aligned with that vision, including Academic, behavior support, and related service curricula and best practices
IEP and 504-related meetings, preparation systems, documentation, and compliance
Special Education and ELL assessments and related communication and compliance
Intervention curricula and programming
Developing school leaders’ capacity to lead toward exceptional outcomes for all students
General education policies and protocols for academic differentiation
Coach and manage support services team members and programs, including Manager of Academics, Student Supports; and Manager of Compliance, Student Supports
All Special Education staff and related service providers (Including all contracted providers), either directly or through the Manager of Student Support Services
Staff providing services to homebound students
Academic and ELL Interventionists
Serve as the final approver of student services, program placements, and IEPs
Develop and deliver high quality training in academic content and support service delivery, data analysis, and data action planning Plan and lead content and data analysis PD for leaders, teachers, and service providers
Consult with Curriculum & Instruction team to develop and implement effective academic and ELL interventions
Help design outstanding site-based and network-wide professional development, including differentiated Summer Professional Development for new and returning staff
Oversee Student Supports-related compliance Serve as the 504 Compliance Officer and oversee 504 training to all staff
Manage the delivery of funds for federal and state project grants
Serve as a liaison between Vista and other governmental agencies on issues related to special education
Align all Vista College Prep programs with state and federal mandates
Coordinate with Vista’s Homeless Liaison and coordinate related services as needed
Your Compensation:
Compensation for this role starts at $85,000 and will be offered commensurate with skills and experience.

Your Qualifications:
Passionate commitment to the mission of Vista College Prep;
Mastery of and enthusiasm for academics, instructional coaching, support service planning and delivery, and championing a vision of inclusivity and highest expectations for all students;
Track record of producing dramatic student achievement gains or comparable results;
Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent organizational skills;
Attention to detail to ensure smooth, predictable, and effective execution of desired outcomes;
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree;
Minimum of four years leading or coaching leaders in urban public school setting;
Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate;
Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card.
