Job Description

Able to manage, plan, and implement AD in an enterprise network. Responsible for unique or complex information systems and/or information technology tasks within more than one discipline, such as application support, database administration, software quality assurance/quality control, software engineering, network telecommunications, and infrastructure operations of administration, analysis, engineering and design.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the day-to-day operations of multiple Active Directory environments, to include proper functioning of the systems, the health of multiple forests, view logs, and troubleshoot problems as they arise in both the NIPRNET and SIPRNET.

Able to work longer hours on given days and/or weekends, depending on operational needs and contingencies, (i.e., installation and testing during non-peak hours).

Support subset applications to support Active Directory as a whole, i.e., Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM), Azure Active Directory Connect (AADConnect) and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and support, monitoring active directory.

Possess working knowledge of certificate-based authentication and PKI infrastructure.

Keep the Active Directory environment up to date with the latest Microsoft updates/patches and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines to ensure compliance with Information Assurance programs within DLA.

Oversee Active Directory Administrator work performance; provide guidance on policy and procedures of operations of the environment.

Work with the automation, reporting, and policy team and will complete tasks involving the automation of repetitive tasks using PowerShell or other scripting languages.

Familiar with Quest Active Roles and have the ability to support the product.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Designs and builds complex information technology and systems infrastructures.

Conducts analysis including planning, designing, and evaluating a variety of complex information technology tools.

Handles user requests for system needs and upgrades that are unique or complex and require additional research.

Implements various applications of a highly complex nature.

Administers and runs complex tests on operating system and related software.

Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and, when necessary, performs data recoveries.

Performs root cause analysis and diagnostics on the more unique or complex production systems.

Identifies opportunities for process improvements and works with team members to implement efficiencies.

Actively engaged in the planning and designing of new platforms and integrating new technologies into existing infrastructure. Evaluates new technologies and releases.

Conducts cost analysis of proposed new/upgraded platforms and technologies.

Effectively creates and maintains relevant systems documentation and user guides.

Acts as a mentor to junior team members by providing guidance and expertise on troubleshooting unique or complex problems.

Applies scripting methodologies to automate related tasks.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant experience; Master’s Degree preferred.

7 years of progressive experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 r2 or newer administration, Microsoft Active Directory 2016 or newer administration, and/or Microsoft Exchange 2010 or newer administration experience.

2 years of Microsoft PowerShell for AD experience.

At least 6 years’ experience with Active Directory administration

including 4 years’ experience with group policy management

and 4 years’ experience scripting automation using VBScript, PowerShell or other languages.

Security Requirements: Clerance: Secret

Sensitivity Level: IT-I Critical Sensitive

IAT Level: IAT III

Certifications: Security+

Computing Environment: MCSE: 2012, MCSA:WS2012, MCSE 2016, MCSA:WS2016, MC Azure SAE, MC Azure SEA, or DLA approved CE

Other Job Specific Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and products that include Microsoft Windows, Windows Servers, Microsoft Office365 and SharePoint, Microsoft Teams.

Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex system hardware, software or networking related problems.
