Data Scientist Job Functions:
The Data Scientist position will sit onsite at our new corporate office in Steele Creek, Charotte North Carolina.
No work-sponsorship offered for this position at this time. This is a full-time position.
Implementing Machine Learning platforms, such as MS Azure, from the ground up.
Use advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to distill insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
Transform data science prototypes and apply machine learning algorithms and tools to automate predictive models.
Communicate the business value and champion analytics as a central decision-making resource.
Architect and work closely with other team members to develop scalable data analytic solutions.
Apply the latest technologies and methodologies in machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics to correlate disparate datasets and events, and derive value.
Identify valuable data sources and automate mining/collection processes.
Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
Analyze large amounts of data/information to discover and articulate trends and patterns.
Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
Combine models through ensemble modeling.
Develop conclusive insights using statistical methods.
Make and defend arguments using data and data-based insight.
Gather business requirements from end users and oversee the build of technical solutions from concept to implementation.
Leverage a variety of data mining/data analysis methods in order to test and propose effectiveness of different courses of action.
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
Monitor the effectiveness of marketing channels, focusing on the balance between existing donor volume against the volume and quality of new donors.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and develop new marketing ideas, leading the implementation of chosen initiatives that integrate company strategy and best practices.
Build and analyze marketing tests to understand impact of marketing initiatives and make sure that the highest return initiatives are adequately scaled, measuring ROI with accuracy and rigor.
Examine, interpret, and report results of analytical marketing initiatives and tests to stakeholders in leadership, technology, marketing, and field functions.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Credentials
Bachelor's degree +5 years or Master's degree +3 years of relevant experience in statistics, mathematics, computer science, operations research, industrial engineering, economics, or a related field.
Computer programming / Data engineering
Experience working with enterprise data warehouses, building data pipelines, and feature engineering.
Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and statistical packages, as well as knowledge of dataset tools and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) tools (preferred: Azure).
Experience using statistical computer languages to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets (required: SQL, R or Python; preferred: Spark, SAS, Julia, SPSS).
Preferable experience implementing machine learning tools such as Azure from the ground up.
Preferable experience with CRM software (preferably Salesforce). Preferable experience with extracting data from CRM via API.
Statistical Modeling
Strong statistics / econometrics background with solid understanding of sampling, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time-series models, hierarchical models, etc.; Ability to interpret models and findings and speak to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience using statistical modeling techniques listed above to drive strategic decisions from raw data to actionable insights.
Preferable experience in marketing analytics, including experiment design and measurement, A/B testing, segmentation, churn analysis/mitigation, and propensity modeling.
Data visualization
Experience with data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Qlik, think-cell, etc.) and distilling data into meaningful graphics.
Individual skills

Experience supporting digital transformation of workflows and business processes.
