Job Summary:
The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients, evaluating patient outcomes, participating in unit committee and quality improvement activities, and serving as a preceptor for new employees, coworkers, and students. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to deliver patient care and will be licensed as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. Basic and Advanced Life Support certifications are required. One year of recent OR experience is also required. This is a full-time position with a 10-hour day work schedule. Taking on call will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to patients
Evaluate patient outcomes to determine if patient needs were met
Identify and follow standards of care for patient population served
Administer medication safely and accurately
Communicate with patient family/significant others as needed
Serve as a preceptor for new employees, coworkers and students
Requirements:
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
BLS and ALS certifications required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
Must have one year of recent OR experience
