The Data Science Graduate Program at the University of Denver invites applications for one full-time, non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor faculty position. While this is not a tenure-track position, the career path is towards long-term contracts: 1- and 3-year contracts at assistant, 5-year at associate, and 7-year at full professor. Position Summary

The hired individual will be responsible for teaching graduate-level data science and computing courses in our on-campus and online programs. Essential Functions

These positions do not require research. The successful applicant will have a passion for teaching and a demonstrated ability to teach data science courses.

Required Qualifications

MS in Computer Science/Data Science or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Evidence demonstrating potential for excellence in teaching.

Interest in integrating DEI into teaching and service

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience teaching a variety of data science courses using Python libraries.

An applied background in one or more of the following: machine learning operations, neural network architectures, distributed computing, and natural language processing.

Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, culturally responsive teaching methods and/or pedagogies to effectively engage broadly diverse student populations.

Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline.

Working Environment

Standard office environment.

Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.

Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.

Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule

While the University’s administrative offices are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000
