Certified Nursing Assistants will be responsible for:
Assisting residents in bathing according to the resident’s wishes and support plan interventions
Assisting with toileting and the use of incontinence products. Monitors for changes in incontinence and ability to self-care, reports findings to charge nurse
Assisting residents with dressing and clothing care, including making sure residents are dressed in clean clothing daily
Providing personal care when the resident is unable to due to health/medical status
Taking meal orders and delivers ordered meal to residents who are unable to come to the dining room. Returns to ensure satisfaction and removes dirty trays in a timely manner
Assisting residents who are on restorative nursing programs by performing passive range of motion exercises, encouraging active range of motion activities and/or ambulation. Provides the necessary assistance/support when transferring residents to and from beds or chairs to wheelchairs, or chairs
Reports all accidents, incidents, allegations of abuse and changes in ability/ mood to the Charge Nurse and/or Nursing Supervisor immediately
Provides comfort care during the terminal stages of life
Takes temperatures, pulses, respirations and blood pressures and weights and records results in the time frame set forth by the Supervisor
Answers call lights promptly and complies with resident's request if qualified or authorized to do so, or refers the request to appropriate personnel
Collects and labels urine, sputum, and emesis specimens
Reports any unusual changes in resident's appearance or behavior to the nurse in charge
Removes soiled linen from beds and stretchers and replaces with clean linen in a manner consistent with resident preferences
Qualifications:
High school diploma and current Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of PA
At least one year of experience working in a direct patient care setting; long term care experience preferred
Must be able to lift and move patients, and to be able to walk or stand for long periods of time
Attention to detail
Ability to handle emotional and stressful situations in a professional manner while remaining calm
