Our entrepreneurial Product and Design team is comprised of 2 Product Managers, 2 UX Designers, and cross functional product partners in marketing, operations, and engineering of course.

We are expanding our customer experience to include several new products and business models within the Ownwell home management platform. If you derive a sense of satisfaction from building great products to help an eager user base of hundreds of thousands of homeowners, this role will resonate with you.

In this role, you'll report directly to the  CEO, Colton Pace.

The Role:

We are looking for a scrappy yet seasoned customer-facing product leader to pioneer our product expansion. You will be responsible for managing the product team and the consumer roadmap. You will partner with leadership on strategy, technical capability, customer insights, market analysis, competitive analysis, and policy regulations.

The ideal candidate will be able to accelerate growth for current products and discover product market fit with the next generation of offerings Ownwell will provide. You will need to exude unrelenting passion for our customer experience with an entrepreneurial spirit and skillset.

Responsibilities: Push an innovation agenda and engage the wider organization to embrace a growth mindset.

Execute and improve upon our product delivery process from discovery to planning to deployment.

Write technical PRDs, manage technical backlogs, and effectively prioritize new features vs. tech debt. Work with a full-stack engineering team to build world-class internal products that eliminate workflow friction, maximize output, and improve employee experience.

Foster a team culture of learning, experimentation and iteration.

Make data driven decisions using existing analytics data, as well as defining new data points that will enable future enhancements

Use exceptional communication strategies to create alignment and transparency both within product development teams and with stakeholder teams through the organization

Drive product launches and go-to-market communications to customers and partners

Lead the product and design team

Lead a Product Management team focused on conceiving, building, and launching user-focused, high-quality products that serve and grow our customers and TAM

Work closely with fellow engineering, design, and business leadership to define our product vision and strategy across your product areas, and deliver tangible business outcomes (meeting quarterly and annual goals)

Execute efficiently in a fast-paced, fluid start-up environment where change is constant and creativity is a must

Recruit and retain high-talent product managers and leaders as well as create career growth opportunities for existing team members.

Communicate clearly and directly with employees about performance expectations, productivity, and accountability.

Coordinate across the organization by proactively providing visibility into the teams' work, including celebrating successes, learning from failures, and managing expectations.

Hiring process overview:

For this interview process you can expect an in-person and virtual component.

The process will consist of initial video or in-person interviews with the CEO or/ and Head of People.

As the conversations progress, relevant candidates will meet with the product and engineering team.

We will also offer an opportunity to simulate a real life project as Ownwell’s Director of Product.

Requirements: Skills

8+ years of experience in product, with a proven track record of building and scaling complex omnichannel solutions and 3+ years directly managing product managers, designers, and/or engineers

Demonstrated success, experienced with 5+ years in interface and user experience design at a consumer internet company, preferably FinTech and/or PropTech

Strong technical proficiency (SQL, Python, HTML/CSS, etc.) and an ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong business acumen and the ability to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.

Experience collecting both internal and external customer feedback and requests, empathizing with their challenges and opportunities, and prioritizing roadmaps to optimize results

Proven track record of defining success, tracking progress metrics, and holding teams accountable for delivery. Knowledge of analytics tools strongly preferred.

Experience designing for mobile consumer apps and/or subscription services.

Experience working in regulated industries collaborating with legal, compliance, and customer support teams

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a strong track record in product/engineering management will also be considered.
