Greenlane™ charging solutions was created to design, develop, install, and operate a nationwide, end-to-end charging network for medium- and heavy-duty battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles with the goal of accelerating the rollout of carbon-neutral freight transportation.

The lack of nationwide electric public charging infrastructure for commercial electric vehicles, especially those used for long-haul freight operations, remains one of the most significant barriers to the widespread deployment of sustainable fleets.

The Greenlane™ network will create world-class charging sites on critical freight routes along the east and west coasts and in Texas, leveraging existing infrastructure and amenities while adding state-or-the-art branded sites to fulfill anticipated customer demand.

The initial focus will be on battery electric medium-and heavy-duty vehicles, followed by hydrogen fueling stations for fuel cell trucks; the Greenlane™ sites will also be available for light-duty vehicles to serve the greater goal of fleet electrification.

We are looking for a highly skilled Director of Software Engineering with extensive experience in Azure and building architecture for API suites. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading engineering teams, driving innovation, and delivering scalable solutions. Your touch and vision will influence products that are transforming an industry and will power the future of EV charging. As the Director of Engineering, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our organization and driving the execution of our engineering roadmap. You will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and business objectives. In this position, you work in a cross-matrixed organization, including direct work with founding partner companies, driving deliverables and alignment across all workstreams.

The Director of Software Engineering will also be responsible for fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization. You will mentor and develop team members, provide technical guidance and support, and champion best practices across the team.

In addition to technical leadership, the Director of Software Engineering will be responsible for managing resources, budget, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. You will be a key stakeholder in strategic planning and resource allocation, working closely with senior leadership to drive business success.

Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Develop and implement engineering processes and best practices to improve efficiency and productivity.

Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define project requirements and priorities.

Drive innovation and technical excellence across the engineering organization.

Architect and design scalable and resilient solutions on the Azure platform.

Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards.

Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions.

Manage resources, budget, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery.

Drive strategic planning and resource allocation to support business objectives.

Manage Devops/Cloudops

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Extensive experience with Azure cloud services and architecture.

Proven track record of building and scaling API suites.

Strong understanding of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience with EV charging (OCPP) or energy management systems (nice to have).

Benefits:

Position offers a starting salary range of $200,000- $225,000 USD plus bonus

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
