The Manager of Energy Supply and Business Development is responsible for assisting the Vice President of Energy Supply and the broader asset management and commercial teams in the short, medium, and long-term management of the Freeport LNG asset. The position is also responsible for daily interaction with all relevant internal and external counterparties to ensure that a stable and low-cost supply of energy is delivered to the LNG facility according to its operational profile.
This role will also serve as a consultant to other internal managers within the organization, providing them with accurate and timely information regarding all aspects of the asset performance and energy supply activities. The focus of this role will be centered around the Texas/Louisiana Gulf Coast natural gas supply portfolio but will also include interactions with those responsible for managing company exposure to Power, NGL and LNG.
Position Description Assisting the VP of Energy Supply with the execution of commercial transactions, entering trades into ETRM, and monitoring the overall risk position.
Analyzing short/medium/long term North American energy commodity market fundamentals to influence commodity procurement strategy and identify possible opportunities in cooperation with commercial teams.
Communication of accurate real time asset operational information to team members.
Ensure that physical natural gas trading and scheduled flow volumes are properly reflected in the company’s ETRM system and supporting the monthly actualization, reconciliation, and settlement processes (as requested by Accounting Department).
Proficiently collects, queries, organizes, and manipulates large amounts of data in Excel and accurately present analytical results which will drive operational and risk management decision.
Creating, maintaining and updating trading and market analysis tools.
Supporting the commercial team by performing ad hoc analysis/research as necessary to ensure traded risk is properly reflected in position and scenario analyses tools.
Interface directly with Risk Control team to ensure accurate reporting of PNL, positions, and revenue forecasts.
Prioritize deliverables and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Engineering, or a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is preferred
5 to 7 years of relevant commodities experience in gas or LNG.
5 years of marketing, trading, or scheduling on pipelines in Texas and the greater Gulf Coast.
Experience working with large quantities of data in Excel and utilizing ETRM systems.
Preferred Education and Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Strong mathematics and analytical skills
Excellent Excel skills and programming experience (VBA, Python, SQL etc)
Strong verbal and written communication skills required to provide updates to others including commercial team, external counterparties, and international business units
