Black Rocket is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales/Marketing Manager to lead our sales and marketing team in Freehold, NJ. This position will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding our presence within the education and enrichment sector nationwide. Key Responsibilities
Manage a book of accounts and generate new business sales growth for enrichment programs within K-12 Education
Review and apply for RFPs
Build and maintain strong relationships with key educational institutions, school districts, and decision-makers
Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team
Set clear sales targets and goals for the team
Provide coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback to team members
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and market share targets
Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform sales strategies
Oversee marketing initiatives, communications, and events
Resolve escalated customer issues in a timely and satisfactory manner
Oversee the entire sales process, from prospecting to closing deals
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of sales activities, including customer interactions and sales forecasts
Implement and manage CRM systems to track sales performance
Monitor and analyze sales metrics to assess team and individual performance
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management
Collaborate closely with product development and operations teams to align strategies and offerings with market demands
Foster a culture of collaboration and cross-functional teamwork
Experience and Skills: Requirements
Two or more years of K-12 sales experience or similar field
A "hunter" who can obtain net new business, open doors, or develop relationships
Must live in PA/NJ/NYC and be able to work on site in Freehold, NJ 2 days per week
The ability to conduct ‘cold calls’ to potential customers and make connections with people over the phone
The ability to research a territory and develop prospective customers
Strong presentation skills for conferences, workshops and webinars
A creative, disciplined, self-starter who can generate a high volume of new sales or secure a small volume of high revenue sales
Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills
Bachelor’s Degree required
