The Cybersecurity Engineer will work remotely .
The Cybersecurity Engineer will coordinate with the CIO, CISO, and Security Manager in the architectural design and operation of information system security controls and countermeasures. A major focus of this position will be to continually analyze current controls and countermeasures and provide recommendations for updating or replacing as required. This position will be responsible for development of implementation strategies of the system security controls and countermeasures including assistance of their implementation to protect computer systems, networks, and other digital assets from malicious attacks throughout the enterprise.
This role participates in the design and implementation to monitor enterprise-grade secure fault-tolerant infrastructure. This role will utilize OWASP principles to ensure safe and secure practices are utilized for development of key processes. You will define and evolve the build and release best practices by working with teams and educating other stakeholder teams.
Responsibilities :
Help Administer, configure, and monitor company EDR/MDR, SIEM, DLP, and internet web filtering solutions
Research threat landscape and conduct vulnerability analysis on emerging risks to provide recommendations regarding readiness and remediation activities
Develop security engineering elements to mitigate threats as they emerge
Engineer solutions balancing business requirements with information and cybersecurity requirements
Participates in company internal audit readiness as required
Assists the Security manager in effective action plans in response to audit disclosures and compliance violations
Plans, implements, monitors, and upgrades security measures for the protection of the organization’s data, systems, and networks
Provides countermeasure support to quickly counter cyber threats to enterprise systems while assisting and advising in computer evidence seizure, computer forensics, and data recovery
Assists the Security Manager in building incident response plans tailored for each customer including runbooks, policies, and procedures for all pertinent parties in a customer’s organization
Administers Risk Registers to document risks and actions to manage risks for customers
Assists in system assessments and recommending authorization activity guidelines
Maintains knowledge about Office 365 security, governance, and compliance
Educates customers on Microsoft 365 products and provides real world use-case scenarios
Regularly audits privileged user access accounts, end user access accounts and account provisioning/deprovisioning procedures, practices, and policies to identify possible risks
Help analyze objectives, scope, issues, or organizational impact of information systems
Monitor system operation to detect potential problems
Requirements :
Solid understanding of OWASP top 10 principles and design elements for new software/web-based development
Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the customers’ business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Strong analytical ability with the capability to determine the root cause of problems and issues and provide solutions
Extremely detail oriented
Excellent work ethic and professionalism
Ability to train internal customers in security solutions and procedures
Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
Must be a team player with excellent communication skills and possess the ability to manage assignments independently
Understanding of IT security needs and procedures
The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The base pay range for this position will be $150,000 to $165,000 . Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.
