This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite on Campus and remote.

DESCRIPTION

The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at the University of California, San Diego. The goals of the institute include:1) Creating and promoting public health innovations to advance equity, justice, and wellbeing for all,2) Cultivating new generations of diverse public health professionals, 3) Advancing scientific discovery, dissemination, and implementation, 4) Collaborating with diverse partners to develop community-led health solutions.

Training, Research, and Education for Driving Safety (TREDS) conducts research, develops assessment tools, and delivers interventions to prevent injuries and fatalities resulting from collisions. Programs are offered statewide that address age-related driving impairments, distracted driving, drowsy driving, pedestrian collisions, and driving while impaired/intoxicated the influence. Target audiences include health care providers, law enforcement, social service providers, educators, commercial transportation, older drivers, youth ages 15-20, and the public at large. Programs and products developed by TREDS are nationally recognized and serve as models for other states.

The Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Project Manager to establish timelines, monitor task progress, facilitate team meetings, and document meeting notes. Additionally, they will be responsible for obtaining purchase orders, reviewing invoices, and serving as a point of contact for project inquiries. Furthermore, the Coordinator will work in conjunction with the Communications Manager to develop project-related communications.

The role involves overseeing assessments and ensuring quality control, preserving the accuracy of research data, conducting analyses, and assisting in the preparation of quarterly and final progress reports and presentations. The Coordinator will also be accountable for the preparation, editing, and modification of diverse documents, including research reports, manuscripts, presentations, and proposals. Effectively handling daily management challenges with tact, diplomacy, and discretion, the Coordinator will actively participate in various day-to-day operations as needed and address complex and sensitive issues.

Applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research, and procedural issues. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives, and makes sound recommendations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two (2) years of related experience/training.

* Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.

* Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

* Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

* Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

* Demonstrates ability to analyze, research, and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.

* Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

* Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

* Experience in program planning and project management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Master's degree in public health or related fields.

* Advanced degree in health services research, public health, policy, or related field. Academic background and experience in community engagement, health equity and health disparities.

* Demonstrated experience working with faculty in developing research proposals and in writing and securing contracts, grants, and/or other support from public and private funding sources in the field of public health.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $56,700 - $97,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $27.16 - $46.70

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
