We’re seeking an Education Researcher to join our newly formed Efficacy Team. This newly created position will report to the VP of Data and Prototyping. As the Education Researcher, you will be the primary contact leading efficacy and effectiveness studies with BrainPOP schools and districts, and help bring key results and insights back to the BrainPOP product teams. Your contribution to the Efficacy Team will impact learners across the world.

A Day in the Life

Running efficacy studies

Define research design with external evaluators and internal stakeholders, including thinking creatively and flexibly in how to operate studies in a remote learning world

Develop and foster relationships with school and district contacts

Arrange, coordinate, and/or lead necessary training and coaching with teachers

Build robust data collection and transfer systems with school partners

Complete needed IRB and district research protocols

Author relevant external-facing publications

Analyzing results to improve our product

Conduct implementation research at or in partnership with schools

Analyze multiple sources of data to develop key insights that drive product, implementation and training forward

Work with data scientists to integrate study results into assessment products

You Are

Enthusiastic about improving education for all students

Passionate about learning and always seek opportunities to expand your knowledge

An articulate communicator with strong academic writing skills

A team player with the time management and organizational skills to also work independently

A skilled multi-tasker who can manage multiple priorities with ease

A researcher with a strong inclination to make sure your work has a real impact on the world

On Your Resume

A PhD in Educational Research or a related field or a Master’s with a few years of relevant job experience

Experience with experimental design in educational settings

Strong understanding of multiple statistical methodologies used in effectiveness and efficacy studies

Proven record of successfully running educational research and/or efficacy studies with schools and districts

A basic familiarity with R or Python

Nice to Have

A background in qualitative research

Advanced familiarity with R or Python

Familiarity with psychometrics

Familiarity with embedded assessments, stealth assessment, or game-based assessments

Familiarity with measuring or studying non-cognitive skills
