Job Description
The purpose of this position is to lead WVPA’s transmission line and substation asset management and inventory management group.
Some of the duties and responsibilities for this role will be:
Leads an asset management group that includes inventory and procurement personnel.
Works directly with WVPA and Member maintenance crews to ensure adequate transmission line and substation equipment condition and performance.
Recommends and leads new WVPA asset replacement programs to ensure reliability across the WVPA system.
Ensures adequate equipment inventory is maintained.
Maintains an up to date WVPA asset management and inventory management database.
Implements performance management policies and best practices to improve employee performance, engagement, and
contributions to support the needs of WVPA and its Members.
Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to achieve Company and Department objectives.
Fulfills supervisory responsibilities including but not limited to budgeting, planning, scheduling, delegating, appraising, coaching, counseling, and teaching.
Directly supervises employees performing miscellaneous activities in support of the engineering group including procurement and inventory management services.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
Prior electric utility experience required.
Substation or transmission line engineering, maintenance, or asset management experience preferred.
Some prior experience in a supervisory role preferred.
