SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC DESIGN ENGINEER ---- ENERGY ENGINEER
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing and implementing solar photovoltaic and energy efficiency projects for comprehensive solar energy company
Conducting site reviews through structural, solar shading, and electrical service analysis
Creating preliminary drawings with system layouts, site plans, and one lines
Designing permit and construction plan sets in AutoCAD, and providing quality control review for work of external consultants
Assisting sales team in developing technical designs using HelioScope and AutoCAD
Completing production forecasting using HelioScope and other models
Providing value engineering and optimal solutions for sales, structures, and operational teams
Designing interconnection drawings, single line diagrams, bid sets, construction sets, and as-built drawings for each PV project
Providing engineering for greenfield development
Coordinating with in-house engineers on construction documents
Serving as technical liaison between clients, utilities, permit agencies, contractors, and other engineering firms
Maintaining design and proposal requirements based on knowledge of codes and standards, design procedures, methods and process to improve project development and project selection process
Minimum Qualifications:
BS. in Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related field
Two years of energy engineering experience, including performing energy assessments, yield production analysis, and energy modeling for electrical design
Knowledge of grid-tied PV systems and NEC
Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and solar energy computer-based modeling tools
Be legally available to work in the US.
