Fantastic opportunity for a Sr Construction Manager in Dallas/ Ft Worth areas.
This opportunity involves a great deal of fiber cabling and electrical systems for data centers, particularly for cloud storage infrastructure. This role involves overseeing the installation and integration of critical fiber optic cabling and electrical systems essential for the optimal functioning of data centers, with a focus on meeting the specific requirements of cloud storage facilities.
Position Description
The Construction Manager - Senior is responsible for leading, directing, supervising, and coordinating overall
day-to-day elements of a given project or projects from contract commencement to final completion. The
Construction Manager - Senior Reports to Program Manager and the Project Director/Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Capital Growth and Operations derived projects
- Owner Contract Scope review contribution and analysis
- Pre-construction estimate and/or bid development for projects under $5,000,000 in value
- Pre-construction and/or bid team contribution for projects over $5,000,000 in value
- Perform subcontract scope development and subcontractor on-boarding for a given project
- Lead subcontracts buy-out efforts upon successful bid, estimate and/or guaranteed maximum price
development
- Ensures adherence to recommended Construction standards and practices
- Maintains a high level of productivity, assuring time frames are met for projects occurring
simultaneously and oversees reports on projects.
- Responsible for implementation of risk management process for identification and mitigation of risk.
- Ensure all projects secure and comply with statutory and environmental legislation and health and
safety obligations and good practice.
- Ensure project risk management and change control processes are adopted and managed.
- Manage Project Procurement process
- Work together with local Operations teams to ensure their full engagement and understanding of
projects to be delivered.
- Ensure handover and close outs are planned, executed, and documented with local teams fully
engaged in site acceptance and IST Testing and Commissioning, review of O&M Manuals and site
snagging programs.
- Foster and enhance owner, client, architect, subcontractor, and vendor relations
- Establish, update, and communicate the Project Master Schedule and sub-schedules to ensure
required implementation for a given project
- Manage the Project budget and financial reporting, interpret and analyze reports to ensure adherence
to the overall project budget and risk management of the company
- Manage the quality assurance and/or quality control program for a given project
- Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions
- Manage and oversee project controls, engineering processes and procedures for the assigned Project
- Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements for project team members and staff
- Lead enforcement of safety policy, protocols and procedures for the company
- Lead efforts to ensure timely pay application submission along with follow up to ensure timely and/or
contractual receivables for the Project
- Sustain continued reporting with the Program Manager, Project Director with regards to the progress of
the project, financial reporting, forecasting of challenges, team performance and client expectations for
the assigned Project.
- Read and interprets project plans and contract documents
- Ensures all standards and requirements are met by conducting quality assurance checks daily
- Ability to troubleshoot any issue that may arise, communicate proposed solutions, suggestions, and/or
recommendation
- Overseeing and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery,
logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
- Overseeing work among assigned trades to promote a coordinated project operation. Resolving local area
problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule,
and all other appropriate matters.
- Managing the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with Source
Building Group standards, client standards, and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Other duties may be required or assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Construction Management, Engineering or Technical related Degree: and/or a
minimum of fifteen (10) years of Project Supervision/Management experience in Commercial General
Contracting, Construction Management and Facilities Management
- Possess thorough knowledge and experience in Construction Cost Estimating, Purchasing, Scope
Development, Project Engineering and Project Team oversight
- Possess thorough knowledge and experience in Project Schedule development and implementation
- Possess strong verbal and communications skills
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Software and other required
administrative software for Project delivery
- Minimum OSHA 10/30 Hour Training
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Able to function successfully in a fast paced, team atmosphere
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Performance of job duties may require climbing temporary or permanent stairs, passenger usage of
construction hoists/elevators and climbing ladders
- Work Environment may include existing on high elevated surfaces such as roofs, elevated platforms,
swing stages, loud machine/equipment influenced areas, areas with high decibel banging and dust
particles
