Job Description:
The Safety Manager role entails spearheading and perpetuating advancements in safety performance across manufacturing plants through proactive initiatives, policy implementations, and procedural enhancements. Collaborating closely with plant leadership, this position ensures the seamless integration of safety protocols throughout the organization while also overseeing the monitoring and upkeep of Worker’s Compensation claims.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate utmost professionalism and discretion in managing staff, projects, and sensitive information.
Foster a culture of safety rooted in behavioral principles, offering guidance and mentorship across all levels.
Drive the evolution and refinement of safety policies and procedures across all manufacturing facilities.
Collaborate with Plant Leadership to establish and achieve Safety Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) tailored to each manufacturing plant.
Serve as the liaison for the Captive program's Safety Committee.
Ensure the availability of leading and lagging KPIs at all organizational levels.
Secure full commitment and participation from plant leadership in prioritizing safety initiatives.
Provide direction in crafting comprehensive EHS training plans, empowering the workforce with the necessary knowledge and skills.
Ensure organizational compliance with pertinent local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Stay abreast of evolving health and safety legislations impacting the organization.
Offer expert advice, coaching, and mentorship on EHS initiatives.
Identify and capitalize on Continuous Improvement opportunities to enhance safety efficiency.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a relevant field is required.
One or more Risk Management and/or EHS credentials are strongly preferred – ARM, CSP, SMS, OHST, CHST, REM.
