High School Assistant Principal

Assistant to the school principal with the following:
* Oversee school's day-to-day operations by handling disciplinary matters and hiring teachers and other personnel
* Collaborate with teachers to develop and maintain curriculum standards and set performance goals and objectives
* Maintain educational policies and integrate the state's common core standards into class curriculum
* Create benchmarks for students and teachers and track progress towards goals
* Provide guidance to the school's network of student leaders
* Respond immediately to concerns from parents
* Provide leadership for teachers and staff, set goals and ensure students meet their learning objectives
* Manage logistics, schedules, teacher and staff evaluations, and public relations
* Sit in on classes, host school assemblies, attend off-site meetings and represent the school at conferences and events
* Present reports, documents and other findings related to the management and success of your school to the principal on a regular basis
* Counsel and provide guidance to students regarding personal, academic, vocational, or behavioral issues
* Direct and coordinate activities of teachers and support staff
* Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff
* Consult with parents and staff to discuss educational activities, policies, and student behavioral or learning problems
* Enforce discipline and attendance rules
* Set educational standards and goals and help establish policies and procedures to carry them out
* Plan and lead professional development activities for teachers and support staff
* Participate in special education-related activities, such as attending meetings and providing support to special educators throughout the district
* Plan and develop instructional methods and content for educational or student activity programs
* Determine the scope of educational program offerings and prepare drafts of course schedules and descriptions to estimate staffing and facility requirements
* Prepare and submit budget requests and recommendations
* Review and approve new programs, or recommend modifications to existing programs
* Develop and maintain partnerships with businesses, communities, and other organizations to help meet identified educational needs and to provide school-to-work programs
* Organize and direct committees to provide technical and advisory assistance for programs
* Oversee the preparation and maintenance of attendance, activity, planning, or personnel reports and records
* Mentor and support administrative staff members
* Plan, coordinate, and oversee school logistics programs, such as bus and food services
Essential skills/experience:
* Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
* Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation
* Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
* Ability to coach and develop others
* Ability to effectively communicate with people inside and outside the organization
Outcomes: This position will be evaluated, in part, based on the following outcomes:
* Execution and completion of all responsibilities related to the position and other responsibilities as assigned
* Completion of projects in a timely manner, and acceptable resolution of project related issues
* Feedback from school leadership, teachers, students, parents, and other school employees
Education and Experience:
* Master's degree in Educational Administration, or a related field
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a school or related setting, demonstrating progression of added responsibility in administration and/or supervision or teacher coaching
* Experience working with students, families, and staff from various cultural backgrounds
* Experience planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing varied and extensive major instructional programs that set high standards for all students
* Experience with Learning Management System, (Schoology), Google Apps, Virtual Meeting Room (Adobe Connect), Online School; Online meetings, iPad Apps
