The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, is seeking a physician anesthesiologist as the Director of our Obstetrical Anesthesia program. This is a full-time academic faculty and clinician position. Individuals with fellowship training in Obstetrical (OB) Anesthesia are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified generalists would be considered. The patient population includes a heavy caseload in Ortho, trauma, and high-risk OB. Only non-tenure-track positions are available.
Duties include direct patient care as well as teaching and supervision of nurse anesthetists and residents. Opportunities for clinical and basic science research are available and participation is encouraged.
Academic rank is commensurate with training and experience and compensation is highly competitive.
Qualifications
Candidates must be Board Certified/Eligible for examination by the ABA
Eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee
Completion of an accredited residency required with sub certifications/training highly preferred.
Current unrestricted licensure as a physician in Tennessee
Current certification DEA number
Eligible for malpractice insurance
Relocation is not required; however, the work is on-site.
