B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering and a minimum 6 years of civil design experience in the transportation, infrastructure, and/or municipal engineering industries
Working knowledge and experience with state and regional regulations
Project experience working with IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, various counties and/or local municipalities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of MicroStation and Geopak
Valid driver’s license required
Responsibilities Direct and monitor all aspects of most projects while mentoring Design Engineers, Project Engineers and/or Lead Engineers
Oversees and manages a design team
Develops, reviews, and comments on design documents and specifications
Primary point of communication for clients, subconsultants, and internal coordination including multi-disciplinary projects
Develops proposals, project budgets and ensures projects are completed according to time and budget schedules, and that objectives conform to design standards and scope of work
Supervises the completion, quality check and approval of all client proposals and contracts
Tracks projects actual expenditures versus planned expenditures
Reviews and approves monthly billing invoices and prepares monthly progress report
Advises client of expenditure status, as needed
Utilizes value engineering, optimization and judgement from previous experience as well as technical input and contributions from others throughout design process to accomplish goals
Lead project meetings both internally and with clients
Other assignments as needed

Key Qualifications
• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering and a minimum 6 years of civil design experience in the transportation, infrastructure, and/or municipal engineering industries.
• PE license preferred.
• Working knowledge and experience with state and regional regulations.
• Project experience working with IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, various counties and/or local municipalities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and Geopak.
