The Japan Global Hawk System Test & Integration team is looking for an experienced System Test Engineer Level 2 or Level 3. Qualifying candidates are expected to have a broad technical background and a proven track record to lead both small and large teams in a multidisciplinary team environment. The candidate must be able to work complex technical problems, provide meaningful solutions, and act as a consultant to management in terms of direction to be taken and in the pursuing of courses of action.
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, ability to learn new systems quickly and collaborate across multiple disciplines.
Candidate must be able to work closely with the customer and other business partners, representing Northrop Grumman in a highly professional manner.
As a System Test Engineer, the candidate will: perform requirements reviews; perform integrated test planning; test procedure development; generate test scripts; operate test sets/equipment; support software integration testing; perform preliminary system test execution; perform formal system test execution; collect and analyze test data; write system test reports to support airworthiness assessments.
Basic Qualifications for System Test Engineer (Level 2):
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years of related engineering experience
Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance, or higher
Applicable Test Engineering experience, includes System Test Engineer in a lab environment, and/or flight test experience.
Basic Qualifications for Principal System Test Engineer (Level 3):
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience
Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance, or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.
Candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must be able to work in a diverse and dynamic team environment.
Experience with IBM Rational tool suite (DOORS)
Experience with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence)
Experience developing and releasing Test Plans.
Test experience of multiple disciplines, to include air vehicle, payload, and systems test in a lab, ground, or flight environment.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to brief test results to executive leadership.
Foundation in Python scripting.
Experience using UI automation software (TestComplete).
Has knowledge of general electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency synthesizers and function generators, digital multi-meter required.
Familiarity with other electronic test equipment such as Spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, protocol analyzer vector signal analyzer a plus.
Should be able to work independently under general supervision. Should be able to support troubleshooting and anomaly resolution of test set and deliverable hardware.
Should be able to generate and support disposition of discrepancy documentation.
Should be able to support shift work including extended shifts, shift rotation, weekends and occasionally holidays.
Should be able to perform manual labor including but not limited to lifting.
Salary Range: $77,100 USD - $115,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $95,000 USD - $142,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
