The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking a Communications Specialist II or Communications Coordinator in the Transportation Department’s Education and Outreach program. This program strengthens and supports the region’s knowledge of and engagement in air quality and transportation projects/programs/policies. Typical activities include air quality and transportation awareness campaigns, paid outreach strategies, and Transportation Department communication materials. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Supporting the development and implementation of communications plans for department programs or campaigns and coordinating with program area staff
Suggesting or recommending paid outreach strategies for air quality and transportation awareness campaigns
Assisting with the development of graphic and visualization elements of air quality and transportation awareness campaigns (i.e., logos and other artwork, fliers, invitations, infographics, presentations, mailers, advertisements, campaign messages and other educational materials)
Supporting communication efforts by maintaining web pages
Supporting air quality and transportation events
Coordinating and facilitating meetings with partner organizations for projects and initiatives
Preparing written reports and meeting summaries
Assisting with grant and consultant management tasks
Providing customer service, presentations and correspondence to the general public, partners and stakeholders
Serving as a representative of NCTCOG’s goals and mission
Required Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented, organized, creative, and the ability to multi-task
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
Required Experience
Work requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
At least one year of job-related experience
Experience with video filming and editing a plus
Starting Salary Range
Minimum of $59.390.00 - $71,268.00 annually
