Research Associate II

Overview:

HD Biosciences Inc., a WuXi AppTec company, located in San Diego, is looking for a highly motivated Research Associate II to join our assay development team to support cell banking and cell panel screening projects and perform other cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques if needed.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

Support in vitro scientist with cell banking, cell panel screening and other cell-based assays. Perform molecular biology techniques for various projects.

Job Requirements:

Support cancer cell panel screening and perform follow up study as requested

Perform incucyte analysis to determine cell doubling time and seeding density for cytotoxicity study

Support cell banking and maintain cell line inventory for our major client

Follow SOPs and perform assays in cell based formats that are suitable for SAR screening in 96 or 384-well formats.

Deep understanding of molecular biology and cell biology and experience in mammalian cell culture and compound handling techniques.

Effectively communicate with internal team colleagues and external clients to promote world-class services.

Qualifications:

Experience / Education

BS in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Molecular Biology is required. 2+year work experience is preferred

Demonstrated strong understanding of complex scientific procedures with technical proficiency in molecular and cell biology

Outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to seamlessly fit within a teamwork driven environment.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills

Need to be able to read, write and understand English

Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.

Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards / Chemicals (List specific Chemicals)

Must not have animal allergies to applicable species in this facility

Must be able to wear appropriate PPE

Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels

Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time

Ability to Lift 10 lbs routinely

Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach
