Responsibilities:
The Recreation Specialist II plans, organizes, directs and participates in comprehensive activity programs that are tailored to the needs and limitations of the frail and elderly.
Participant Activities 50%
Evaluates participants functional status in relationship to recreations services.
Performs initial, change of condition, transfer, and annual assessments for all participants.
Develops, plans and implements recreational programs that meet the interests, needs and capabilities of participants who are frail and elderly.
Assists participants with non-skilled activities of daily living.
Develops and implements individual and group Recreational Therapy programs that meet the needs and capabilities of participants according to the care plan.
Provides community resources for individual participants according to their care plan including but not limited to; community integration, community recreation resources, therapeutic community outings and therapeutic recreation special events.
Consults with recreation department and contributes recreation program ideas for the ADHC recreation calendar on an as needed basis.
Supports the recreation program and department when staffing needs warrant.
Develops and applies leisure/recreation expertise in the leisure/recreation field. Disseminates to other recreation staff.
Participates within the interdisciplinary team in the formulation of Plans of Care for InnovAge PACE program participants, as well as in other interdisciplinary team settings that plan, coordinate and monitor the care of InnovAge PACE program participants.
Administration - 50%
Consults with the multidisciplinary team regarding therapeutic recreational programs for participants, in collaboration with the occupational therapist.
Coordinates treatment goals and special events with other departments.
Maintains timely and accurate documenting of progress notes, daily participant sheets and other department required documentation in a timely and accurate manner that ensures agency charting and reporting requirements.
Provides adaptive equipment and supplies for recreation in the ADHC.
Participates within the interdisciplinary team in the formulation of Plans of Care for InnovAge PACE program participants, as well as in other interdisciplinary team settings that plan, coordinate and monitor the care of InnovAge PACE program participants.
REQUIRED
Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field from an accredited college/university or an Associates degree in a related field and 2 years of experience.
2 yrs in a social or recreational program that coordinates and provides services for a frail or elderly population within the last five years, one of which was full time in a patient recreation program in a health care setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of one year working with the frail or elderly
PREFERRED
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification

Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and geographic location and does not include potential bonus or benefits. Posted Salary Range:
USD $28.00 - USD $31.75 /Hr.
