The Americas Commercial Sales Manager is a pivotal role of the Americas Sales team, responsible for the entire sales process originating with lead generation to closure. In this role, you will act as the liaison between regional field sales management, the Partner & Alliances, Marketing and Customer Success teams.
What you'll do:
High Level
Build and Manage the Austin-based Americas commercial sales team to achieve targets, drive sale of MariaDB's products line.
Be the Leader of our Austin Office
Day to Day:
Expand, enable, mentor and manage the Americas ISR, BDR and teams. Oversee employee development, conduct performance reviews, and guide the reps on successful career paths.
Quotas setting - Qualified Opportunities or Meetings? Monthly or Weekly? Coordinating with the VP Americas and the Dir. of Sales Ops you will define, author and be responsible for the different team's compensation plans and the team's accomplishments of their goals.
Define and refine the BDR Process with their leaders - From inception to execution. Provide feedback to sales, marketing, and product teams to continually refine our position and help to accelerate our taction in the market.
Tool selection - From social media to dial tools, select, refine, train and roll out the tools used by the team.
Ensure the usability of our leased office in Austin, establish vendor relationships to maintain connectivity, office supplies, and cleanliness on an ongoing basis.
What you'll need:
3+ years as an ISR, BDR or PDR manager with proven planning, organization, and project management skills.
Capacity to hire, engage, lead, and motivate team members and establish a healthy and collaborative work environment.
Excellent reporting and analytics skills
Strong organization /prioritization skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Willingness to roll up your sleeves and help the team get the job done
Ability to understand, synthesize, and pitch MariaDB products.
Nice to Have/Bonus Skills:
Deep knowledge of the open source software ecosystem including community and commercial licensing models.
Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Clari, Going.jo, Google Docs, and equivalent tools.
Honest, and transparency. A willingness to give straightforward answers to questions like "how am I doing?"
Location: Austin, TX - Hybrid
Compensation:
The annual anticipated U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is USD $95,000 - $115,000, plus commissions
Actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies.
In addition, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than the job description as posted. Salary is one component of MariaDB’s total rewards package, which (subject to eligibility requirements) may include equity ownership, health insurance, life, and disability insurance, funds toward professional development resources, Paid Time Off (PTO), paid holidays, and parental leave, just to name a few!
Salaries for candidates outside the U.S. will vary based on local compensation structures.
