Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes.
Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info.
Writes up and presents budgets, reports, and project plans.
Develops bids for construction projects.
Works closely with architects and other professionals.
Schedules meetings with clients, site managers, and staff.
Navigates and understands building codes.
Processes paperwork and travels to building sites as required.
Monitors construction processes.
Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction.
We are seeking a project estimator in our Arlington office to provide large commercial based construction cost estimating.
Ideal Estimator candidate has significant experience with 50 to 80+ mil projects.
Candidates should be able to read and understand construction drawings, provide material and quantity take-offs, have good personal skills, and be able to perform in high pressure situations. Knowledge of production rates and quantity verifications are a must.
The ability to write proposals and prepare labor, material and cost estimates will be an essential skill. Soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers, and review and evaluate those bids will be another essential job duty.
