Essential Functions and Primary Duties
Works directly with Managing Director performing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, preparing semi-monthly and semi-weekly payroll for charter school client’s employees, prepare general ledger tasks through financial statements for Charter Schools and other clients as well.
Candidate must be detail oriented, be able to prioritize work, able to multi-task as many financial reports have date driven due dates.
Prepare annual school budgets, annual financial reports and other various reports as needed for the Arizona Department of Education.
File monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax returns, prepare annual Form 1099’s and 1096’s.
Manage annual school audits, knowledge of Medical/Dental/Life/Vision policies helpful.
Work with an insurance broker to assist our clients their commercial insurance renewal projects each year completing Insurance applications as required. Knowledge of commercial/property insurance issues is a plus.
Candidate needs to possess good problem solving and time management skills with the ability to meet many deadlines.
Five plus years of accounting experience and must be proficient with computers and bookkeeping software, being able to operate Peachtree and/or Quick Books Accounting software programs.
Knowledge of Word and Excel.
Knowledge of payroll preparation as well and familiarity with basic accounting principles also a must.
Candidate must be flexible and adaptable to change, possess excellent people skills and communicate well, must possess good writing, listening and communicative skills for dealing with clients, vendors and staff, etc.
Candidate should possess professional attire to interface with clients, vendors and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
CPA or equivalent
Proficient in PeachTree & QuickBooks
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required
2 years of management experience
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
Exceptional customer relations skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proven ability in negotiating solutions within an office environment
Experience in developing procedures resulting in attaining optimum business efficiencies
Proven time-management and organization skills
Proficient use of applicable technology- Microsoft outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Concur, Salesforce
