Job Description Job Description Leads a team by supervising the daily operations of Accounting administration to include review and completion of general accounting transactions ensuring the timely and accurate completion of various daily accounting activities. Coordinate and manage the work of the Senior Accounting Associate and Accounting Associate. Perform accounting activities such as general ledger transactions, including certain daily work and more complex reconciliations as assigned. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving reconciliations prepared by staff, managing the daily cash position for the Bank, reconciling and researching more complex accounts and handling any issues that may arise, act as a liaison between Accounting department and other areas to ensure questions are answered and handled properly and in a timely manner, as well as other routine accounting duties assigned by the Controller or CFO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the team responsible for the daily operations of Accounting administration to ensure opening of the day, and timely close of the day once all appropriate accounts are reconciled
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements as needed
Review general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries as appropriate
Oversee the Accounts Payable function and review invoices and ACH file prior to payments being made to ensure accuracy
Review investment transactions made on the investment system by Accounting Staff to ensure proper reviewer sign off and complete and accurate postings onto the GL and investment module
Establish and maintain cross training plans for Accounting Associates to increase level of knowledge on all critical accounting activities that need to be completed in cases of absence
Participate in assigned projects for the Bank as an Accounting liaison to ensure all accounting-related transactions or processes are set up properly, timely and accurately
Complete any additional daily/monthly/annual reconciliations as assigned
Initiate/verify wire transfers for bank wires when necessary
Assist in gathering information for outside public accountants, internal audit firm, regulatory examiners, and any other 3rd party requesting financial information as needed
Prepare and complete regulatory reporting as assigned by the Controller, such as the FR2900 report, in a timely fashion
Perform additional duties as requested, needed or assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent work experience is required.Minimum 5 years' experience in banking or banking-related field
Supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and techniques
Must have computer skills and working proficiency with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of COCC, Fiserv, BankTel systems modules a plus
