This unique position will be responsible for leading approximately 80 FTE's, with 6 direct reports. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, with the ability to work independently, and be able to drive results in managing 6 OR's, 2 endoscopy rooms, and 2 procedure rooms. Must have the ability to work in a very dynamic environment that is constantly changing due to the growth of the hospital. This role will be developing staff, managing blocks, working independently on a variety of projects that will impact all of Periop Services. This manager position will be responsible for leading a team of 10 - 12 nurses who are considered "PRIMERS" for the ECMO pumps. Must have a minimum of 2 - 3 years working in an ECMO environment, and a clinical understanding of the ECMO process and unique challenges in working in this critical care unit where every second counts. The incumbent will be managing a 24/7 operation, but working traditional business hours, M - F, 8 AM - 5 PM. This position is accountable to provide oversight for the operational and administrative activities of the ECLS program. Responsible for day-to-day staffing and operations while maintaining fiscal accountability. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving the quality of services with the goal of optimal patient outcomes. Demonstrates clinical expertise for the provision of safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate care to patients of all ages.Plans, coordinates, and provides education to the interdisciplinary ECMO team and medical care providers. Works interdependently with and independently of the team.
