Digital Marketing Strategist

The Digital Marketing Strategist supports the effective implementation of the organization’s marketing and communications initiatives in an effort to promote positive public image and brand awareness among Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans’ various audiences across all digital, social and website platforms. Specific areas of focus include content generation and management; assistance with donor communications, including print, e-communications, social media and website administration; collaboration on multi-media projects; and assistance in the planning, execution and evaluation of special events, including groundbreakings and facility openings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Web, Social Media and Online Communications
Maintain constituent groups for social and digital campaigns, including creating/updating/deleting groups as requested.
Coordinate and deliver electronic newsletters, e-blasts and email campaigns.
Create video content for website and social media.
Assist with website content, updates and ongoing refinements to improve website experience for visitors.
Assist in the development and execution of social media strategies and campaigns.
Assist in the development of dashboard reports detailing website metrics and performance of electronic communication efforts.
Monitor emails to website and redirect accordingly for response.
Video, Photography and Logo Assets
Maintain image library of videos and photos, including related usage waivers, Convio image/video library and voagno.org image/video library.
Serve as in-house photographer, capturing and editing images of agency activities and events for use in marketing materials and social media.
Schedule and manage freelance and contract photographers as needed, including creating shot lists and cataloging photos.
Coordinate production and distribution of specialty items.
Assist with logo resources and monitor program adherence to brand guidelines.
Writing and Editing
Work with marketing director to develop/edit/proof valuable, engaging content that increases the agency’s brand awareness to key stakeholders. Content is for a variety of digital and traditional channels including websites, newsletters, annual report, social media and more.
Create free resources (i.e. e-books, whitepapers, infographics, guides, etc.) to drive awareness and engagement.
Maintain agency’s library of digital stories.
Digital Marketing, Communications & PR Specialist - Marketing & PR is Direct Report and Responsible for:
Digital - Brand, Image and Community Voice constantly pushing the brand, community impact and top-of-mind awareness of the Organization.
Digital - Marketing and Advertising creation and execution of all campaigns necessary to achieve the Organizations Strategic Plan.
Digital - Communications and PR to effectively deliver, manage and plan/schedule for ongoing communications for both internal and external channels of the Organization, including websites and social media.

Assist with event planning, including working with vendors, program development and on-site support.
Track press coverage, gathering analytics and preparing reports
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
This position has no supervisory duties over other full-time or part-time employees.
KEY CONTACTS
It is important for this position to develop working relationships with other members of the Resource Development and Marketing Team, given the team’s spirit of collaboration.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field
2+ years of experience in marketing or public relations with digital platforms
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional knowledge of grammar and editing/proofing capabilities
Solid knowledge in website maintenance and social media
Demonstrated organizational skills and an ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Experience with Adobe Photoshop required and with Adobe InDesign preferred
Preferred
Excellent presentation skills
Must have
Current driver’s license issued by state of residence
Current vehicle insurance
Current vehicle registration in state of residence
Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
Must be able to pass a criminal history investigation
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is primarily performed in an office environment while seated at a desk. Dexterity is used while performing work with personal computer keyboard, calculator and other office equipment. Must be able to travel site to site in personal vehicle and occasional weekend and/or evening hours may be assigned as needed.
