The Opportunity

Reporting to the Associate Provost, the Lesley University core faculty member will teach and advise students in the Counseling and Psychology master’s program and in the Counseling and Psychology doctoral program. The graduate master’s programs prepare students for licensure as Licensed Mental Health Counselors and/or School Counselors or School Adjustment Counselors, in the state of Massachusetts. In this capacity the core faculty member will demonstrate a commitment to teaching, reflective practice, and scholarship. In this capacity the core faculty member will work as part of a team, training practitioners and leaders in the field of counseling and psychology. The core faculty member will demonstrate a commitment to a counseling practice that emphasizes social justice and trauma-informed approaches to counseling and healing.

Qualities and Capabilities

Completion in a doctoral program preferred, or have a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology, counselor education and supervision, or related field

Minimum of two years of graduate level teaching experience

Expertise in the areas of holistic counseling, trauma-informed practices, field training, PreK-12 school counseling, group dynamics, and/or biological bases of behavior preferred.

Demonstrated commitment to social justice perspectives in teaching, service and practice

Licensed or license eligible in Massachusetts

Excellent verbal and written communication, administrative, and organizational skills

Prior experience advising graduate students strongly preferred
