The Speech-Language Pathologist impacts students’ lives by:

Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to assist with language and communication development.

Consulting with the Director of Special Education regarding opportunities to incorporate speech and language strategies in classroom settings

Coordinating consultants and individual providers to support the needs of the speech and language caseload

Remaining knowledgeable of current trends and federal and state regulations in the field of speech-language pathology and special education to ensure compliance

Have demonstrated past success working with students in non-selective schools

Possess Louisiana State License in Speech Pathology; CCC-SLP preferred

Have a minimum of one year of full-time professional speech-language pathology experience beyond the first year of postgraduate professional/employment experience

Have a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in speech pathology, as specified under Speech Pathology guidelines and/or speech communication disorders

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

This is an in-person role
