Responsibilities Incumbent assists in the administration, development and delivery of information technology (IT) systems and services Monitors Remedy Asset Management support groups, for IT hardware and software requests and provides IT assets to meet those requirements. Develops and maintains problem tracking and resolution databases and provides research, evaluation, and feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements. Develops customer support policies, procedures and standards. Implements plans and assists in the coordination of most aspects of IT property management program for activities serviced. Analyzes program requirements and participates in planning for new data processing systems pertaining to IT inventory management requirements. Implements authoritative policy and procedures pertaining to all operational aspects of property accountability, to include disposal, and ensures publication in regulatory documentation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Advanced understanding of the IT accountable property systems, IT Asset Management (ITAM), and EBS. Experience with costs analysis process involved in obtaining and replacement of equipment. Understanding of IT property accountability management to include physical inventory and preparation of accountable adjustment documents and special purpose accountable property type reports and procedures. Knowledge of property accountability automated systems, government office automation and other military systems utilized in the performance of day-to-day operations. Experience in independently and effectively preparing/presenting oral and/or written briefings, fact sheets, point papers, talking papers, reports, and studies. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Education Substitution: Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, you must possess: a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
