Director of Surgical Services/Perioperative Services
Job Summary: The Director of Surgical Services is a Registered Professional Nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for all functions in the Operating Room, Recovery Room, Same-Day Surgery, Sterile Processing and Special Procedures. She/he oversees operations and the quality of nursing care rendered to all patients in these areas including but not limited to the immediate preoperative stage, the intra-operative stage, and the immediate recovery stage. She/he supervises all personnel in the Operating and Recovery Rooms, Same-Day Surgery Service, Sterile Processing and Special Procedures. This position analyzes and evaluates services utilizing current research to improve patient care outcomes and quality of care. This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer of the Organization.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
BSN required and MSN preferred and or the equivalent in formal education or related experience.
Experience: Recent 2-5 years of progressive responsibility in clinical and management experience.
Licenses and/or Certifications: Current California RN license required
current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification required, & ACLS preferred.
