As the Data Engineer, you will report to the Lead Data Engineer. You will modernize our Advisor solutions to the next-generation cloud platform. You will work in a team to improve overall data quality and set up next-generation data orchestration using modern cloud tools. As a cloud Data Engineer, you will develop secure and resilient architectures to provide relevant insights to our Advisors so they can increase their business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design data pipelines to extract data from different data sources using Azure, Snowflake Cloud, and cloud-native technologies.

Build a data model to get relevant insights from data, operational efficiency, and other essential performance metrics.

Design and manage inbound and outbound data processes and monitoring. Work with the data provider to bring in new feed into our data eco-system.

Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

Work with stakeholders, including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams, to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

Write Test-driven Development-based code to meet overall data quality standards defined by the users.

Automate the data testing processes and integrate them with monitoring systems.

Work with the Application Engineering team, DBA, Infrastructure, and Project Management Office.

Analyze existing systems (including legacy) and data sets to help Business Analysts establish the functional and non-functional requirements.

Meet with our users, assist with data-related technical issues, and support their data infrastructure needs.

SKILLS:

Background in working with Azure Cloud Services: Data Factory, SQL database, Functions, Data Lake, Databricks, Logic Apps, and Azure Automation.

Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

Fluent in object-oriented and functional script languages: Python, Scala, and C#.

Advanced working knowledge of SQL Server database - writing advanced SQL script, profiling, and optimization.

Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools: Tableau and PowerBI.

Experience with other Big Data tools such as Spark, Snowflake, and Kafka

Experience creating and using APIs

Preference for background in Financial Services in Wealth Management/Independent Broker-Dealer/RIA

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, MIS/Information Management, Engineering or related field

3+ years experience in a Data Engineering role.

INTERNAL APPLICANT POLICY:

Internal applicants must be in good standing and have a minimum of 1 year of service with Kestra. Internal applicants must also have a minimum of 1 year service in current role unless approved by EVP.
