Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Director to lead our medical and psychiatric care initiatives. As the Medical Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing clinical strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our clients. You will provide leadership to our medical and psychiatric team, oversee treatment protocols, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote the overall well-being of our clients.

Primary Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric assessments, medication management, and ongoing evaluation of clients' mental health status.

Supervise and mentor medical and psychiatric staff, providing guidance on clinical best practices, case management, and crisis intervention.

Provide clinical leadership and oversight for medical and psychiatric services within the agency.

Develop and implement evidence-based treatment protocols and clinical guidelines to ensure the delivery of effective care.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans for clients in intensive outpatient and residential programs.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical services.

Stay abreast of developments in the field of behavioral healthcare, including emerging treatments, medications, and therapeutic modalities.

Serve as a liaison between the agency and external medical providers, hospitals, and community resources.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, licensure requirements, and accreditation guidelines related to medical and psychiatric care.

Represent the agency in professional forums, conferences, and meetings to promote awareness of our programs and advance the field of behavioral healthcare.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements Active medical license in the State of California as an MD or DO and valid NPI and DEA certificate

Board certification/eligible in psychiatry or a related specialty.

Professional Liability (malpractice) insurance required.

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, with experience in County/State behavioral healthcare preferred.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

Must be able to meet community care licensing criteria, including federal background check, TB, and physical exam.

A valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, personal auto insurance as required by law, and an MVR sufficient to obtain and reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are essential job requirements.

Physical Requirements

Physical demands include continual sitting, typing, and repetitive computer use for up to 8 hours a day. The position also requires frequent communication with others, including hearing and speaking clearly with individuals and groups, in person and via phone and video calls. Ability to lift 15 pounds at times. These requirements are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the job's essential functions.
