The team is responsible for shielding the company's systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG's businesses to achieve their goals. AIG's Information Technology functions include enterprise architecture, software and systems engineering, cybersecurity, and technology risk and compliance.
About the role
Job Summary
Our team is looking for a talented and experienced Software Engineer who will be an integral part of the team focused on building software and implementing technology solutions in support of AIG's Global Capital Markets group.
What we're looking for:
Candidate must possess 5+ years of related technology and industry experience, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal skills with ability to manage and deliver multiple tasks within short timeframes. Candidate must be creative, self-sufficient and resourceful. Ability to quickly learn both the technology and business concepts, and experience working on cross functional teams is required.
In this role, you will:
Work on complex initiatives on selected domains within Investments and Global Capital Markets groups
Design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
Collaborate across all levels and functions
Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
You will work with industry leading financial software and market data providers such as Bloomberg, S&P, IHS MarkIT, Blackrock, Refinitiv and many others
Desired Qualifications: Prior experience working/supporting/integrating with platforms like Bloomberg AIM, Kyriba, Aladdin
5+ years of .NET/C# experience
5+ years of Capital Markets experience
5+ years of VBA/Excel development
5+ years of Oracle PL-SQL
5+ years of Web based solutions using .NET
5+ years of information security experience
5+ years building relational databases on Oracle
5+ years working on AWS platform and building AWS-native solutions
Experience with Power BI
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Experience with Python
Experience with Snowflake
Experience building basic data pipelines
Experience with Bloomberg API/Data License platform, Refinitiv API/DataScope platform
Working knowledge of trade lifecycle for all or some of the following: foreign exchange, money market, futures, options, swaps, fixed income securities
Knowledge and understanding of Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile
Experience with version control or source code repositories such as, Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory
Prior experience working under IT risk control framework relevant to financial industry (ex: SOX)
Domain knowledge of derivatives and fixed income trading, pricing, analytics, middle office ops is a plus
BS/MS Degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, MIS or relevant discipline.
For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $90,000 - $127,000. For positions based in Jersey City, the base salary range is $90,000-$120,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
