St John WA currently have an intake for Community Education Officers to join us on a casual basis. You will be responsible for delivering our ‘First Aid Focus' education program to school students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Our ‘First Aid Focus' program is an exciting community youth initiative that promotes awareness and teaches basic First Aid Skills. At St John Ambulance we are committed to promoting first aid in the community and we believe there is no better place to start than in our schools.

What you’ll do:
Follow and deliver appropriate lesson plans in non-accredited First Aid training and awareness throughout the Perth metropolitan area; in line with agreed St John Ambulance Western Australia lesson plans, protocols, policies and procedures
Ensure that a high standard of instruction is maintained in all lessons
Build rapport with customers and students
Promote and encourage participation in First Aid Training courses offered by St John Ambulance WA
Identify new business opportunities for St John Ambulance WA to engage with schools and the community
Contribute to efficient rostering needs of the department by providing up-to-date availability and sufficient notice of availability.
What you’ll need:
Passionate about first aid education
Exposure to working with children, or experience in education and training
Ability to engage and facilitate education sessions to a varied age demographic
‘Working with Children Check’ will need to be obtained by all successful applicants
Open Driver Licence & Reliable Transport
HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain if successful).
Flexibility of working hours. Preferred availability 3 days Monday to Friday
