Job Description Job Description Trinity Washington University, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks applications for fulltime faculty to teach in its undergraduate and graduate Education licensing programs (AA, BA and MAT). Trinity seeks candidates in the areas of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Literacy. The successful candidates will take a primary role in providing instruction and supervision using research and pedagogical best practices, student advisement, recruitment, and other duties that will enhance the department and university. Trinity’s Education Programs have CAEP accreditation and faculty have responsibilities in support of accreditation expectations.

Candidates must present earned doctorates in Education with academic emphasis in the areas specified. Additionally, candidates should present at least two years of successful teaching in Grades PK - 8 in addition to qualifications and/or significant experience in Teacher Education at the collegiate level. Candidates should also possess a demonstrated commitment to diversity, including expertise working on behalf of children from culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse communities.

Candidates will have an advantage who present clinical field supervision experience, experience partnering with local schools and teachers, and experience working with diverse student populations and in urban settings. Experience with school systems in the greater Washington region is advantageous.

Reporting to the Dean of the School of Education, the successful candidates will teach four courses (12 credits) per semester, advise and mentor students in the teacher preparation programs at all degree levels, support accreditation expectations and engage in the routine service work of the university and School of Education. The positions are non-tenure track starting at the rank of assistant professor.
