**Treasury Analyst**

This is an exciting time to join Portland General Electric. As Treasury Analyst you will have the opportunity to support PGE’s cash management function, short- and long-term financing activities and financial operations efforts. Our business is rapidly transforming and this role has the opportunity to contribute to a variety of different efforts based on interest and aptitude.

You will develop, maintain and enhance relations and communications between the organization and financial professionals to enhance access to cash and PGE’s overall banking relationships. You will support development of reports and presentations to management and PGE’s Board of Directors.

You should be someone with intermediate knowledge of finance theory, investment analysis, accounting and financial planning and forecasting methodologies, as well as an intermediate knowledge of other finance and accounting disciplines, financial systems and applications. Our ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving, decision-making skills, negotiation and diplomacy skills, and advanced written and oral communication skills.

**This position requires** **a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field or equivalent experience and two or more years in related field. Certifications/Licenses** **and Training CFA a plus.**

**Position Purpose**

This position supports achievement of PGE’s financial goals and objectives. This position is responsible for supporting PGE’s cash management function, short- and long-term financing activities and financial operations efforts. This position will also provide analytical support for the group; developing a solid foundational understanding of Treasury and related functions and requires someone with nimble learning capacity.

**Essential Job Responsibilities** (functions with percent of time spent performing function)

**Treasury Management (50%)**

+ Analyze daily cash needs to ensure the company maintains proper liquidity.

+ Optimize cash investment returns consistent with established investment policies.

+ Complete comprehensive and detailed daily cash forecast for rolling 3-6 months. Provide variance analysis of cash forecast to other long-term company cash forecasts.

+ Issue letters of credit to support company operations including the trading floor.

+ Execute an accurate and comprehensive foreign currency hedging program.

+ Continuously review the process to ensure greatest efficiencies are occurring.

**Process Improvement (25%)**

+ Assess current processes on necessity and performance.

+ Determine whether processes should be automated; if so, analyze level of complexity and work cross-functionally to deliver improvements.

**Other (25%)**

+ Assist in preparation of the Board reports including CFO Report to the Finance Committee.

+ Payment of invoices.

+ Special projects as requested.

**Communications** (description and reason for contacts)

Company personnel: managers and employees within various departments of PGE. Communications will include gathering and verifying information as well as reporting results. External parties: a broad range of external parties including bankers, FX traders, vendors, customers and others.

**Challenges** (complexity and diversity of actions)

Building a solid knowledge base on the company and staying current on financial issues. Assimilating information and knowledge in the Investor Relations, credit, and treasury disciplines. Ability to balance and establish priorities with minimal direction when faced with varied workload demands. Ability to propose creative solutions to problems. Judging when/how to obtain appropriate cross checks on accuracy of work. Maintaining flexibility in a changing work environment.

**Decisions Made** (this position makes the following decisions)

Decision on allocation of work time between various projects. Other day-to-day decisions.

**Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required**

Financial background required. Good oral and written communication skills. Thorough knowledge of software applications such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Knowledge of Treasury Management software desired, particularly experience with Kyriba. Effective human relations skills, with an understanding of the Guiding Behaviors. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – readily identifies alternatives. Team oriented with the ability to effectively build relationships. Demonstrated ability to provide innovative solutions to problems. Basic ability to apply analytical skills to the utility business. Typically a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or related field or equivalent experience. Two plus years of responsible experience.

Compensation Range:

$72,900.00 - $121,500.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
