Design Consultant Experience Design

HOK seeks a Design Consultant to join our Experience Design team in Houston . Under the direction of senior staff, the successful candidate will create contract documents for use on experiential graphic design projects for a variety of clients and building types.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and develop experiential wayfinding, branding and graphic design projects.
Provide design documentation, planning, programming and coordination for all aspects of project delivery from pre-design through construction administration.
Create graphic images, renderings, animations and detailed drawings for presentation and construction.
Provide production and construction administration assistance to the senior staff and other designers.
Conceptualize ideas and translate them into complete construction documents and specifications.
Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.
Travel may be required.
Overtime may be required.

Required Skills
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of the experiential graphic design process.
Knowledge of graphic design and multi-media applications required.
Knowledge of construction documentation and specification techniques.
Must possess design talent, creative energy and organizational skills required
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing required
Ability to visualize concepts in perspectives, renderings, sketches and illustrative elevations required
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required
Proficiency in MS Office ans MS Teams required
Knowledge of Revit, Rhino , and Sketchup a plus.
Knowledge about design elements, such as color and composition required
Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
Ability to anticipate, identify and troubleshoot problems and recognize alternative actions.
Ability to provide excellent, consistent service to internal and external clients in a supportive and professional manner is required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment and must possess good interpersonal skills.
Required Experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, architecture, industrial design or related field.
1-3 years of professional experience; or an equivalent of education and experience required
LEED credential required within 12 months of employment
