Job Title: CFO, Federally Qualified Health Centers Department: Nursing | College Administration The College of Nursing is located on the largest health sciences campus in the country and is one of seven health science schools at Ohio State with outstanding collaborations with the world-renowned Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University and the James Comprehensive Cancer Center. The college offers robust, nationally ranked programs in nursing pre-licensure education, an accelerated second-degree entry program, several master’s specialties, and PhD and DNP programs, as well as inter-professional degrees in wellness and health coaching, health innovation, and clinical research management. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for developing and forecasting a budget that services over 15,000 patients in multiple Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). This role reports directly to the FQHC CEO, with an indirect reporting relationship to the Associate Executive Director, Finance OSUWMC.
The CFO will be responsible for the health system portion of OSU Total Health and Wellness (OSUTHW) finances. Provide leadership for accounting and budgeting efforts of the health center, in collaboration with the OSU College of Nursing and the Family Practice Department OSUTHW. Act as a liaison between the Family Practice Department, OSUP billing department, and the OSUTHW.
The Chief Financial Officer will manage accounting, budget management, purchasing, financial, compliance auditing and financial reporting to regulatory agencies and committees of the organization. The Chief Financial Officer will establish and recommend to the leadership team any major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the company. This role will oversee accounting functions and assure that the company is following GAAP and SAP rules as well maintaining performance measures in accounting. The Chief Financial Officer will develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures while establishing and maintaining appropriate internal control safeguards. The Chief Financial Officer will interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports and recommendations.
Requires a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field. Four years of relevant experience required. Five years management experience in non-profit, health care industry desired. A master’s degree in health/Hospital Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration, or related field is highly desirable. The candidate must have a record of progressive leadership abilities, demonstrated oral and written communication skills, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Competency in PC-based networks and related software (e.g. Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint skills are desirable).
Evidence of organizational skills, interpersonal skills, decision-making skills, customer relations, written and verbal communications, effective problem solving, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Must be able to establish and build relationships across a broad range of people and groups both within and outside the University.
Demonstrate competence to meet performance expectations.
